the excitable energy of small transactions is a walk connecting the present to the experience of walking through the Burgerweeshuis in Amsterdam as an exhibition and the city. The walk experiments with my thinking on reciprocal signification. Reciprocal signification is the coming together of artworks, visitors, and artists where there is a transaction or exchange of meaning that at some point a change will occur within all three audiences. This change could be perceptual, experiential, actual or imagined. In the walk, I try to keep my walking companion in the present whilst indicating the intentions of the building along with their journey through space. I was thinking about how beginning the experience of the exhibition in a state of total relaxation and through this, their experience of the exhibition is one that is focused: on where they are and why they are here.
