Not knowing is an evolving thinking process without a settled trajectory, as how could it be otherwise? If it is possible to be clear, it is not about knowing what intimacy can be in a community, but instead about approaching the unexplainable, the unfathomable, the messy in its multiple bodies, shapes, and forms. In this way, I ask the question of how through art do we make room for others that are invisible and that shimmer. To share in this space of not knowing is to ask and show what it is to put our companions first. By keeping the door ajar for the difficult encounter is to listen and speak about care and responsibility. This talk ultimately grapples with the space that is created by not knowing as an intimate gesture.
